This is a dedication to Harrison. Who passed away at 9 weeks old. His mother whom I don't know or know their story, but, only know that my painting spoke so deeply to her. Deeply enough to purchase it, have me inscribe her sons name on it and hang it where his crib once was. I am beyond moved, beyond understanding what she is feeling and experiencing. I hope this painting will bring her peace and comfort for days, months, years to come.
The death of a baby is like a stone cast into the stillness of a quiet pool;
the concentric ripples of despair sweep out in all directions,
affecting many, many people.
--De Frain, 1991
