silhouette inspiration part 2
so, i keep revisiting the silhouette. how would i use it? on my ceramic work? would i paint them on canvas, wood? would they some how transform into my paintings, sneaking out here and there? then i saw this....

Although, this was created by using stencils and paint (click here) it got me thinking. thinking that maybe i just might know what to do with my images. taking this idea only using images of my kids, husband, friends, family, pets etc (that I have) would be really cool. even in black and white. maybe? very graphic. i am thinking my hallway. forget that traditional hallway of photos!
any thoughts?

Under the ETSY sun!
I can browse ETSY every day, wait I do browse ETSY every day! Maybe I am a little addicted. Maybe it’s a great vehicle for inspiration. Maybe, just maybe it’s a way for me to get a shopping fix without actually spending any money, you know mark my favorites. Hold onto them in my “fav” section on my etsy account. Its not just the abundance of talent on it that holds me captive, it’s the stories, the creations, the insight into someone else’s life and in some small way avoiding my own.

silhouette inspiration

I've been in-love with silhouettes since the 2nd grade. It was my teacher, who first introduced this type of art to me and had me hooked ever since. However, its only been recently that I have had the courage to use them in my current work. I am still in the exploration stage of this so we'll see where it goes. Here are some images that are sparking my creativity. I will post photos of my work when they are complete.

Fleur De Lys (in store window display by me)
This is a window display of my current work in an amazing store called Fleur De Lys (in Costa Mesa)! Josephine and Shannon (the owners) are two incredible women who are extremely supportive of local artists. Together they have embraced me and my work. I am truly thankful.

A little of this and a little of that......
Once upon a time long, long ago, Lily the bird was the most beautiful of all birds. Her feathers were brilliant and her voice! Her voice was even more beautiful than her feathers. When she started to sing on top of the big tree all the other birds stopped to listen to her sweet song.
